Today my 12 bags of clay and glaze materials came. Clay comes in large flat 12.5 kg bags here, unboxed. This is Lisa, who kindly helped me carry all of them from the street and up the stairs. While we were hauling clay, Lisa showed me the studio of her husband, Nigel Talbot, which is just off the downstairs courtyard. Nigel does gorgeous large scale public works featuring wood, metal and other natural materials which reference archaeological artifacts. As someone who loves old bits and pieces, his studio was a treasure trove of hidden delights.
