New Class!

I am delighted to announce that I will be teaching an intensive  workshop over five weekends this summer with well-known glass artist, Tim Tate.

Elements of 21st Century Reliquaries
Reliquaries with internal healing objects have been important cultural objects for centuries. They have been made with a wide variety of materials. But what makes a reliquary in the 21st century? What elements can go inside? Which materials seem most appropriate in modern times? In this class we will utilize clay and glass to explore current concepts in reliquary forms. This class will be split between a clay and kiln cast glass studio, allowing each participant the use of both materials and many techniques. There will be a wine and cheese reception at the end of this workshop to allow friends to see the work in a professional setting.
InstructorTim Tate, Novie Trump
DatesSat/Suns in July/Aug (July 14,15,21,22,28,Aug 4,11)
Time1pm to 5pm
Tuition$600

It should be a dynamic, exciting class with a unique opportunity to combine glass and ceramic techniques to create your own reliquary-  I hope you can join us!

Spent the day installing 6 site-specific works at the Open Gallery in the Cafritz Arts Center for my upcoming two person show (im)permanent archive with Jon Malis.

Long day made great fun by their lovely staff and the generous help from my dear friend, Lesley!

Ceramic Sutra

I was delighted to be asked to not only curate, but to contribute two pieces to this fabulous show of book themed ceramic sculpture. It was a national call for entry and we had some fabulous entries. I was also asked to invite artists as well and they all rose to the challenge with great verve and creativity.

I have always been a great lover of books. My home is filled to the eaves with them, bursting forth from beneath beds and inside closets and everywhere there is a spare nook. The invitation from Mary Cloonan, the Exhibitions Director at Baltimore Clayworks,
to curate a show which melded books and ceramics
was a dream come true.
